Beach Wandering in Strandhill

On a day out at the beach after a big storm, I came across these massive pieces of kelp that had been ripped up from the ocean floor and littered through out the rocks and rock pools on the beach. I found the shapes and designs of the rotting kelp fascinating. Upon first glance I thought young larva were eating the decaying kelp, but soon realized that these were natural forms made by the organism itself. For me, this is a turning point within my project, and I know find myself captivated by the decomposition of once beautiful things.
