Making Mold! (not finished yet, still drying in the gaff)

So after studying and documenting various molds, I decided to give a stab at making my own recreational mold!
To start off, I first made a massive basin of paper pulp by shredding lots of newspapers and adding them to a big basin of warm water. To that I added tea bags and glue to bind the whole and to give a brownish colour, I then blended it all together to make paper mush. On the floor I layer out towels and more newspaper for absorption, and spread and plopped the pulp all over it. While on the floor I added green oasis and a variety of green fleeces to create a mold like appearance.
After days of tackling the 'mold' with hair dryers, the bloody thing is still damp, I can only hope that it has dried over the christmas break. I then plan to peel the 'mold' off and have it as a free standing piece. Ideally I would love to install LED lights throughout the mold and sprawling onto the floor like glowing bread crumbs.

Neglected Lettuce

As we all know, student life is a filthy one, and as a result many of our greens and veggies our mothers' hound us to eat are often forgotten about when we move away from home. This is true for this unfortunate, neglected head of lettuce. After fermenting in the fridge for god knows how long, I took the opportunity to analyze and study the smelly vegetable, much to the dislike of my neighboring desk. The decomposition was extraordinary, the colours, the slimes and the textures, all made for a riveting photographic experience.

Colourful Rot

Inspired by my beach scavenging, I've now began to take a serious look at decay. Relating back to my sweet experiences, I took one of my dogs chew toys, a colourful rubber ball that he loves to chew, almost like as if it were his own special sweet. After ripping it in half, the insides look to me as if it were rotting from the inside out in a remarkably colourful way.
In the mean time, the hound has now found a lovley new toy to chew on.
